December 8 2010 - The Boxer'In on the Lake welcomes our newest guest named Tess.
Tess arrived at her foster home last evening from a shelter in Kentucky that was too full with too
many dogs. Tess would like to thank all her transporters that made it possible for her to get into
rescue. The transporters do an amazing job week after week. They all said that this girl is a gem
and I have to agree with them. She is a young spayed reverse brindle girl with white on her
chest and four paws and also has a tail. It looks like she might have already had a liter of pups
in her young life. She is very tiny and weighs only 45 lbs. and is so sweet. Tess was spayed at the
shelter and brought up to date on her vaccinations and is heartworm negative. We will start
treating her nose where it is very dirty and looks very dry to see if we can help that along a
little bit. She might have been rubbing it against the cage when she was at the shelter. She has
met the other dogs here and does fine with them with lots of wiggles. She is a good eater and did well
sleeping last night. I think she was exhausted after her long transport. She is a good girl and
will ask to go out to do her business. She recently was spayed so we will try and keep her a little
quiet to give her some healing time. She loves the snow this morning. I think this girl is going
to make a wonderful addition to any family that will be lucky enough to adopt her. She is so calm and loving.

December 18 2010 -Tess had a wonderful Christmas at her foster home. Santa brought her some
toys and she has played and played with them. She continues to be a good guest here, always asking
to go out to do her business. She loves the snow and we have to ask her to come in or she will just
keep playing out there. It has been way to chilly to stay out too long. She is getting along with
all the resident dogs and has lots of energy for whoever wants to play for a while. Tess loves to
play tug of war. I think that is her favorite. She knows where the toy box is and some things I
haven't seen in a long time but she sorts through there to find just the right toy to spend some
time with. She is a good eater and eats twice a day. Tess is young and will benefit greatly from
attending obedience class once she is adopted. She likes to please you so I think that she will
learn what is expected of her very quickly. Now that we have Christmas behind us, Tess really
would like a family of her own. She is such a little sweetheart and any family would be lucky to
have her. She has lots of energy and love to give. She is anxiously waiting for you to find her.
