May 14 2010 - The Boxer'In on the Lake would like to welcome Sienna into our home. She is a fawn girl, with natural ears and a docked tail. She has white on all 4 paws and a black face with just a whisper of white on top of her nose. Sienna is getting along with all the resident dogs here but will only play for a short while with the ones that want to. I don't think that she needs another dog to be with as her true love is for people. She loves to give kisses and have some attention paid to her. We don't know much about her past but in her original home, she lived with another boxer and 3 children older than 5 years old. She was given to another family as the original owner could not have two dogs in her living situation. Her second family had 2 very small children and it seemed to make her very nervous. The second family is who turned her into rescue after a week. So, she has been through so many changes that we are giving her some room to relax and find her spot in the household. She is crated while we work and does very well. She gets a marrow bone filled with frozen peanut butter and really enjoys that. She has had no accidents in the house and is very well house trained. She greets people with lots of happiness and tail wagging. She is eating twice a day and we had to put something in her bowl to slow her down. I have never seen a dog eat so fast. She could stand to gain a few pounds, she is looking a little thin. Sienna will be brought up date on her vaccinations this week and also be spayed. We will keep you posted on how she does. I think she is a real love and I'm sure you would think the same of her.

Update July 12,2010 - I must apologize for keeping you all in the dark about Sienna. Sienna is doing fine. She threw us a little curve ball when she decided to go into heat shortly after her arrival. So we had to wait to get her spayed but she is now ready to go. She will get her stitches out on Tuesday. She continues to be a good girl at her foster home. She meets people with her tail wagging and loves the attention. She gets along with all the dogs here but doesn't really play with them only on a cold and frisky morning will she run and play with another dog. Her true love is her people. She doesn't need another dog to keep her happy but she does great around other dogs. She is a great eater and eats twice a day. We mix her kibbled food with a little warm water and she is ready to eat. We are working on her leash manners and you do have to remind her not to pull which she knows what to do but she gets easily distracted. We crate her during the work day and she get a peanut butter filled marrow bone to pass the time till we get home. Sienna knows some command and she is best at come. She will come running when you call her in an instant. Sienna will benefit from an obedience class once she is adopted. She really wants to please you. If you think you are perfect for her, please fill out an application to see if she has found her home.
