July 20, 2009 - Jody arrived tonight, she wants to send a big thank you
out to a few angels that made her rescue possible. Jody is about 2 yrs old, I'm
not sure, but I think she was a stray dog. Anyway, when she arrived at the pound,
it was noticed that she had some skin issues going on. All skin scrapings were
negative for parasites. It was determined that she had seasonal alopecia which is
some hair loss that occurs usually in the spring/summer. Her hair is growing back
in very nicely where it was gone, and as is typical with white boxers, she is pink!
She has only been here a few days, so as she settles in, more updates will come. My
camera battery is dead too, so new pictures coming soon.
August 2, 2009 - Jody girl is settling in very nicely. She has been here 10
days now and she is beginning to blossom. She gets along with all humans and dogs,
even taking a shine to the 11 month old twins and 2 yr old grandbabies that come to
visit. She is puting on a few needed pounds, eating twice a day. Her hair is growing
in nicely, we do believe that the stress of being in a pound for two months was too
much for her to handle and it showed in her hair loss. She could not be crated in a wire
crate, so it's a plastic one for her. she doesn't like to be in it, as I'm sure it
reminds her of the pound, but for safety reasons, all of the foster dogs here are crated.
I feel she would do best in a home where someone is home so she wouldn't have to be
crated everyday. I think with time, she will realize that she does get out after a bit.
