April 19 2010 - Hey, Jerome here! After finding myself no longer wanted, my next stop
was what they call a pound. Let me tell ya'll, it's no place for a good ole Kentucky boy like
me! I waited and waited, no one came for me. One day, a very nice lady came and got me, told
me my sad days were over. She took me to a vet, I got shots, a heartworm test (negative),
and then they told me when I woke up, I would never be able to add to the pet overpopulation
problem because I would be neutered, whatever that is. Someone else scooped up my poop and
they determined that I had alot of unwanted blood suckers in my system that were keeping me
real skinny. I had to take a yucky medicine to get rid of those pesky parasites! Within a few
days, I made my way on a thing called a transport. There were lots of other dogs, but I must
say, I was the best boy. I finally arrived last week at the Pup Tent. Things just couldn't be
better. I love the other 3 dogs they have here, I really like the idea of eating meals on
a regular basis and I love everyone that I meet. Foster mom has these really short people that
visit alot, I think she calls them G babies or something, but they are very short and I like them!
So, I am neutered, up to date on all my shots, on heartworm preventative, free of worms and just
waiting for what they call my "forever family". Oh, did I mention that I have a tail? You should
see the other Boxers trying to figure out what it is, it's always wagging and wacking them!
Update May 14,2010 - Jerome has been here a few weeks now and I can't find a single bad
thing to say about this boy! OK, maybe a slight breath problem, but other than that, he has
been the best boy! He loves everybody he meets, kids, people and other dogs. Our 18 month old
grandbabies are here every Tuesday as well as frequent visits from all the kids and he is just
fabulous with them all. The only thing is the tail, it's at the perfect level for chest thumps!
Jerome crates like a charm, eats like a dog should and is housetrained. He just followed the
lead from the other dogs I guess. He will make a fine addition to any family, other dogs or kids
would just be a bonus for him!
June 15 2010 - Single guy with tail looking for his own family to hang with. Yep,
that's Jerome! Jerome is a nice boy, quite possibly a mix, but we can't be sure, he sometimes
looks all boxer and then he'll look like he's got something else, the tail throws you off too.
Even with that being said, I have only good things to say about him. If you're looking for a
younger dog that has alot of energy, but can turn into a couch potato just like that, a dog that
is happy all the time, a dog that hasn't met a single human or dog he doesn't like, a dog that
is good with kids of all sizes, then what are you waiting for???!!! Jerome crates like a charm
when I have errands to run, he goes in with some encouragement, but once inside, he is quiet and
sleeps till I get home. He eats twice a day and would benefit from a home where he will get to do
alot of running or hiking.
