January 31, 2009 Best Friends Boxer Rescue would like to welcome Glen. Glen came into
rescue from a pound in Ohio that is new to us working with. Here are a few words from his transporter:
"Hi Everyone, Here are some pixs of BFBR's newest foster Glen. He is a plain brindle boy with a dark
face. I do not think this dog has a mean bone in his body. He is big. Tall. After Marge passed
him on to me in PA I was driving back to NY and Glen kept trying to crawl in my lap! As I said he is big.
He actually shifted my truck out of drive and into neutral two times on the highway. I finally thought
this is nuts I am going to have an accident so I pulled over at the toll booths and made him get in the
backseat. He was good and I kept my hand across the seats the whole ride so he could not climb back up front.
He decided to crawl in the babys carseat and take a nap. I do not know how he fit in there but as I was
driving his head came up on my shoulder. So I picked up my camera and held it in the backseat while I was
driving and snapped some pixs fo Glen in the carseat. He would not have been the cause of an accident this
time. It would have happened because of my own stupidity trying to snap the pixs while driving. We made it
to his foster house safe and sound. I hope he is being a good boy for you with your gang."
February 3,2009 Glen is a super nice dog. He is friendly and smart. He knows several commands as well
as his name. He listens well when I tell him to "come" or "lay down". He has met all of my dogs here
(male & female, his age & senior) & has wanted nothing to do but hang around as part of the pack and play.
He is large, but very docile and not aggressive at all. I caught him marking in the house a couple of times
and told him "no!", redirecting him outside. I'm hoping that this will be the end of that! Glen was a stray
twice to two different shleters in Ohio. His owners were notified and they didn't want him back. He is a great
boy, so I can't imagine why they wouldn't want him back. Once he is up to date on his vaccinations, he will be
ready to start his new life. He will make a loyal & loving family member.
February 7,2009 He is now up to date on his shots and had an oral dewormer for round and
hookworms. He has to take some powder stuff in a couple weeks too. The vet loved him. He is just the happiest
dog I've met. I call im Mr. Happypants! He is kinda goofy and likes to nibble things. He hasn't destroyed anything,
but I wouldn't put it past him. I would also change on his topbox-no to seperation anxiety, yes to crate trained,
yes to children.
